We consider each serving to be 4 ounces. We provide 6 ounce cups to allow room for toppings if desired. Generally, if you have 50 guests at a party, a 50 serving Small Package will be enough, but we do see guests often enjoy a larger portion or come back for seconds!
If this is the only dessert at your event, we recommend planning for one serving per guest. If other treats are offered, you can round down or offer a smaller cup to guests.
Yes. A confirmation email will be sent at least one week prior to your event. If at that time you decide you need more servings, please let us know and we will adjust accordingly.
No. We let each event host decide which toppings best suit their guests. Some chose to offer no additional toppings and others offer elaborate, fun toppings!
Our Taylor 152 ice cream machine requires its own dedicated 115-volt, 20 amp circuit with a ground to properly function. Using our provided 50- or 100- foot cord, it will plug into a standard wall outlet in most homes or businesses. Note: no other electrical device can run on the same circuit including lights, refrigerators, etc. No refunds will be issued due to problems with power.
Confirming adequate power is best done through the electrical panel. If you rent more than one machine, each machine needs their own circuit.
No. The only cord that can be used to provide power for the machine is the one we provide. We have both a 50- and 100- foot extension cord depending on the distance from the outlet.
No. Our current cart and machine weighs over 500 pounds. Due to the weight, we are unable to go up anything other than a small step/curb. For the same reason, the machine cannot go over rough terrain. A flat surface like concrete or asphalt is ideal.
From the time the machine is plugged in and mix is added, it takes about three to five minutes until the soft serve is ready to enjoy.
During the event, it is important to ensure the power is not disrupted and that the machine is not moved from its drop off location. It is also important the switches on the machine are not moved to ensure the machine functions properly.
If your event has more than 50 servings, you will be provided additional mix to add to the machine once the "mix low" light comes on.
At the time of drop-off, we give a very thorough overview of the machine at drop off. It is very easy and simple to operate.
Prior to the end of the event, we ask you to drain any remaining mix.
No. Cleaning is not required before pick-up. If possible, we ask you to drain any leftover mix from the machine into provided leftover containers to make for a quicker clean up process when we arrive.
Yes. If it is hot/sunny we will use our umbrella to shade the machine to allow for optimal performance. In the event of rain, we ask that an alternate location be available to keep the cart and machine covered (we suggest a tent or garage).
Yes. The machine will intermittently make noise as it is making the soft serve or keeping the mix cool in the hopper. The noise is not continuous, but if you are hosting an event where you want minimal noise, the machine will not stay silent entirely.
If there is a cancellation two weeks prior to the event, a refund will be issued minus a $30 administration fee. If the cancellation is made within two weeks of the event, a $75 fee will be applied to the refund due to administration and product costs.
